It's A Little Bit Of What I Fancy

New York, New York

New York City really is my city of dreams. From the dusty streets of hipsterville Williamsburg to underground speakeasies in East Village; larger-than-life bagels in Greenwich to the feeling of sheer serenity in Central Park, NYC is a place to get lost on purpose. (Which is handy, cos I never got the hang of that metro thing).

Swinging in the City

It's brought us the fashion fabulosity that is Sex and the City, cheesy grits (not so fashion, but still utterly fab) and my favourite all-stars - Mary-Kate and Ashley.

I'm not the only one to suffer from Olsen addiction. One girl has dedicated a whole site to perusing images of them - http://olsensanonymous.blogspot.com/. Whilst aesthetically very pleasing, depression does settle in around page 4. These chicks are to be handled in small steps.

The combination of the beach-hair-in-the-city, Bambi eyes and poverty-inspired style (despite a casual $100 million fortune) is a winner and they're translating their style genius into ranges of their own - The Row and Elizabeth and James.

I love their vintage/designer mash up and the fact the John Lennon sunnies get an occasional red carpet outing - which should make them look like idiots, but just adds to their quintessential 'homeless chic'. And watch out for the up-and-coming sibling as lil sis Elizabeth is set to fill their vintage Dior booties with finesse.
