A rainy morning and a hint of a hangover (yes, I was expecting you) confined my Saturday morning activites to the realm of the boudoir and the technological joys of You Tube. Apparently I've been living with my eyes wide shut to have failed to notice the viral sensation that is Christian the Lion - the story of the baby lion purchased in Harrods in the Sixties (totes normal back in the day).
While the heart-tugging story of two friends raising a lion in London, only to rehabilitate it back into Africa and be joyously reunited a year later, is obviously the key gist of the documentary, the imagery from 'Swinging London' and their influencial sartorial choices struck a cord.

Such pangs for that decade of decadence. And the love affair hasn't stopped today. The early 60s were a clear reference point on A/W11 catwalks, leading to an abundance of mod-themed editorials in September issues. Wish list? A Burberry Prorsum Jean Shrimpton-inspired black and white fur coat.
