This Week In Fashion: 5th Sept-9th Sept

1. Man Oh Man

The GQ Men of the Year Awards always bring the hottie and tottie out to play and this year was no exception as the red carpet was paraded by the likes of Keith Richards, Sophie Dahl, Jonny Depp and Emma Watson. Purely for his achievements in The Hangover alone (1, not 2), here's Bradley Cooper.

2. October's Out

It's that wonderful time in the month when my pay has come in ( misleading me into a false sense of wealth which results in impulse buying), followed swiftly by the automatic withdrawal of rent, leaving my balance back at the rotting total of, well, nothing. So where to turn to in the darkening hours of penniless evenings than the big, fat, GLOSSY monthly magazines. So who is causing a furore this month?

Adele is sitting pretty on Vogue and in an honourary issue of English women - who better a cover star than the best-selling British female artist du jour? But as to whether Adele is really the new face of fashion, that remains to be seen. Can using the size 14/16 artist really be deemed a celebration of 'fuller figures' when they've only featured shots from the neck up?

3.Keira in Katrantzou

Loving Keira Knightley's sartorial choices at Venice Film Festival. Mary Katrantzou is officially the hottest ticket at London Fashion Week and Keira is flying the flag for British fashion in this digital print dress. Love the cat eye sunnies, all quite Wintour-esque?

Opting for a red carpet number from my favourite Haute Couture collection, Valentino, wouldn't it be nice if all 20-somethings could look like that? She makes me want to invest in a hair brush and set down the suitcase-size bag of M&Ms.

4. It's New York, New York

So #NYFW has officially begun (that's New York Fashion Week for all you non twitards) which means endless pouring over catwalk pictures and show reviews. For all the best snaps of fashion editors and off-duty models, bookmark the Tommy Ton club on Style.com

5. FNO

And to celebrate this very fashionable month (I've already stocked up on Berocca and dry shampoo lest I'd be shuddering at the thought), Vogue held their annual shopping event 'Fashion Night Out' in New York, Paris, Milan and London. With a red carpet lining Bond Street and all the big-name stores open till late, the fash pack flocked in for free champers, chances to win designer goodies and the odd stalk shoulder rub with a sleb or two.

Upsides - Wolf Gang and all beautiful Burberry boys at Christopher Bailey's pallacio.
Downsides - Being asked if we were working at the Burberry event. Er black is chic don't you know?
